MONTPELLIER TERRACE, KNIGHTSBRIdGE
Adjacent to the collection of grand and imposing terraces of Montpellier Square, this private residence is one of three early Victorian properties more modest in scale and simple in style. With a fragmented internal layout, daylight has been restricted to this understated home due to an adjoining post-war development.
Externally the historic fabric has been restored in a scholarly fashion, retaining its valuable Victorian features, whilst the internal plan is arranged around a new central atrium and staircase that allows the house to fill its plot whilst allowing an abundance of daylight to penetrate through to a new basement.
The atrium and staircase provide both physical and visual access to each level of the house with a series of glazed floors, bridges and external terraces.
