Having worked in the private residential sector since the practice’s inception Studio Kyson has a vast portfolio of housing projects which span across the country, with commissions in London, Essex, Yorkshire, Norfolk and The Cotswolds. Our projects vary in scope, from single countryside dwellings to multi-dwelling urban developments, from contemporary new builds to historic refurbishments. Underlining our design process is a strong understanding of the economic considerations required to remain in line with the project budget. Much care is paid to the choice of products and materials specified to ensure the viability of our proposals – we take opportunity to source alternatives, avoiding mass-produced products at premium prices in exchange for cost-effective, project-specific solutions that are unique to the building.

For any residential project appointing the right architect is crucial to the project’s smooth running and can often impact the project’s outcome. For this reason we have developed two strands of architectural expertise; firstly in leading, contemporary architectural design, and secondly in the careful and sensitive treatment of our country’s historic building stock with many of our most successful projects being a combination of the two. Our meticulous commitment to purist design principles along with our in-depth knowledge and experience of historic building and repair techniques makes for the highest standards on all our residential projects. Equally as important for the success of a project is the ongoing communication and administration between all parties. As a practice we pride ourselves on our ability to successfully lead and coordinate all design and construction processes in a professional yet approachable manner.
