THE PAVILION

With a focus on cricket provision this school Pavilion provides multifunctional sports facilities including viewing galleries (internal and external), teaching rooms, cafe, changing rooms and equipment stores as well as an undercover, outdoor multiuse sports training pitch. Embedded within the school’s wooded landscape, and with views over multiple sports fields, the Pavilion’s architecture reflects its bucolic setting through the substantial use of timber; oak frames with charred timber shingle wall and roof finish sourced from across the site. A rhythmic layout of frame posts reflects the movement of students across the playing fields whilst the discreet basement, housing both home and away changing facilities, is equipped with a direct route out to the playing fields, providing opportunity for ceremony and procession as both teams parade onto the field.
